Why "part-time" needs its own filter
Most job boards either bury part-time roles under a hard-to-find filter or surface "part-time" as a sloppy synonym for "gig work" / "1099 contractor with no minimum hours." Cushy part-time means something specific:
- Predictable weekly hours — not "0 to 40 depending on demand."
- W-2 or transparent 1099 — pay rate is hourly and stated up front, never "earnings potential."
- No quota or downline pressure — your job is the work, not recruiting more workers.
- Real benefits where applicable — many BPOs (Concentrix, TTEC) offer health insurance to part-time workers at 20+ hours/week.
The cushy categories with the highest part-time availability are customer service (~18% offer part-time), online tutoring (~70%, almost all are flexible-hour), transcription (~95%, fully async), and chat-email support (~30%).
