About the Opportunity:
The \*\*Health Information Specialist I\*\* plays a key role in managing patient health information with accuracy and security. This position ensures the proper handling and safeguarding of medical records in compliance with privacy regulations, directly contributing to the organization''s ability to support healthcare providers and external requests efficiently.
Responsibilities:
• Receive and process patient health information requests following policies and procedures
• Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information
• Use company and facility software effectively
• Comply with codes of conduct and policies
• Communicate work issues and volume fluctuations to management
• Assist with additional duties as needed
• Apply medical privacy regulations consistently
• Manage patient health records and ensure HIPAA compliance
• Prepare new patient charts by gathering documents
• Assemble medical records in standard order, verifying accuracy and completeness
• Create digital images of paperwork for electronic records
• Respond to internal and external patient record requests
• Handle inbound and outbound calls
• Assist with patient walk\-ins and administrative tasks such as faxing, mail handling, and data entry
• Meet site\-specific productivity expectations
• Schedule pickups as required
• Perform other assigned duties
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum age of 18 years
• Ability to commute between locations as needed
• Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons
• Basic computer proficiency
• Comfortable using phones, fax machines, printers, and general office equipment
• Professional verbal and written English communication skills
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• The estimated base pay range per hour for this role is: $15—$15 USD
