Scopist / Transcript Editor–Proofer (Remote)

**Job Summary** As a Scopist/Proofer, you will review transcripts of legal proceedings while referencing audio and/or video recordings to ensure accuracy, consistency, formatting, spelling, and punctuation. This is a full\-time, remote position requiring strong attention to detail, excellent grammar skills, and the ability to meet strict deadlines. **Schedule** * Full\-time, 40 hours per week * Core business hours requirement: Employees must be available Monday–Friday for a set block of time (typically 10:00 a.m. EDT to 2:00 EDT p.m.) to support team collaboration and client needs * Remaining hours are flexible and may be completed outside of core hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends. * Flexibility is required; occasional early start times, late evenings, weekends, and overtime may be necessary to meet client deadlines **Responsibilities** * Edit and proofread legal transcripts using audio and/or video recordings * Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with formatting and style standards * Meet production deadlines while working independently * Continuously enhance skills through training and self\-directed research * Complete additional projects as assigned * Uphold company core values: Quality, Integrity, Professionalism, Gratitude, and Ownership **Qualifications** * Prior experience as a legal transcriptionist, scopist, editor, and proofer * Strong background of English grammar, editing, and proofreading * Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy * Self\-motivated, deadline\-driven, and able to work independently * Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word; experience with AutoScript is a plus (training available) * Ability to quickly learn new software and troubleshoot basic technical issues * Excellent communication and collaboration skills * Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality and customer service * Ability to make quick decisions and solve problems effectively * Ability to pass a background check and sign a confidentiality agreement **Requirements** * Reliable high\-speed internet connection * Minimum 1 year of scoping/proofing experience required **Benefits** * Fully remote position: no commute or travel * Opportunities for advancement * 401(k) with employer matching * Life insurance * Paid time off **Work Location:** Remote Pay: $17\.00 \- $21\.00 per hour Benefits: * 401(k) matching * Flexible schedule * Life insurance * Paid time off * Parental leave Work Location: Remote
